  • The ICO’s 2024 audit of AI recruitment tools found problems including tools that let recruiters filter out people with protected characteristics, and collected more personal data than needed. Read its recommendations first.
  • A data protection impact assessment if AI will process candidates’ personal data.
  • Candidates told clearly if and how AI is used.

Use plain British English, avoid jargon and gendered or age-coded language, and keep "must-haves" genuinely essential.
